![]() Spencer Quinn is the nom de plume of Massachusetts author Peter Abrahams, who made his bones (um, sorry) writing such literary thrillers as "Oblivion" and "Lights Out." His Chet and Bernie books, starting with 2009's "Dog on It," have brought him a whole new base of rabid fans (oops), whom he will meet and greet at Scottsdale's Poisoned Pen bookstore Tuesday, Aug. It's just that the narrator happens to be a dog. ![]() Like all the best contemporary crime fiction, they delve into darker territory, and while they are also quite funny, the humor arises organically from the unique perspective of the narrator. ![]() "Paw and Order," the latest Chet and Bernie mystery by Spencer Quinn, follows on the heels of such best-sellers as "To Fetch a Thief," "A Fistful of Collars" and "The Sound and the Furry," but these novels are more than just cutesy cozies. ![]()
